Two Years Of God’s Grace

by Aug 20, 2018

Harbor Church West Oahu just celebrated our 2 year anniversary since our launch Sunday. We’ve experienced a massive amount of God’s grace as we’ve been on this journey together. When launched with a hand full of families who believed that God was calling us to worship Jesus in a beautiful way in our community. Though entirely still imperfect, we believe God has given us much grace to be able to worship him well, love each other well, and grow together. Here are some things we’re celebrating on our 2nd birthday:

BABIES, BABIES, BABIES
Our church is overflowing with new life! On a Sunday morning you’ll have to zig and zag around the strollers, and get out of the way of the massive cart full of other kids that some uncle will be pushing around! God has blessed our church with loads of new life. We praise him for that blessing; and we’re humbled at the responsibility that comes with it. As we grow, we want to make sure that we are caring for these children well. We want to make sure that in our nursery, preschool class, elementary class, and others that will come, that our kids are seeing the beauty of Jesus, enjoying God’s gifts by having fun, and that they are safe. So we’re praying for more uncles and aunties to serve in our keiki ministry and love these kids well.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES
God has given us many new opportunities to love and bless our community over the last two years. Last year we moved to a new location, Ewa Elementary School. We’ve been able to bless them by providing a storage bin for their campus, new chairs for them to use for assemblies, and funding classroom projects for teachers. We’ve also been able to partner with the K.E.L.I.I. Foundation, which serves families of children with special needs in our community. Soon we’ll be launching a Foster Care Focus Group for the 3 families in our church who are resources families and are providing foster care. Our hope is that God would call more families to foster and adopt, and that our entire church would be aggressively supportive of those who God calls on that amazing journey.

NEW LEADERS AND MINISTRY WORKERS
We’re celebrating the fact that we now have 3 community groups that meet in Kapolei, Ewa, and Ewa Beach. That means that there are new people opening their homes leading. We also have 10 Journey Groups. A Journey Group is a group of 3 men or women who meet a few times a month to encourage each other through prayer, studying the Bible, and accountability. Along with those two massive things we’re celebrating, we’re also stoked to have SO many new people serving in our Sunday morning ministries. God has provided new, incredibly gifted people to serve in every ministry in our church!

God has been overwhelmingly gracious to our church. Would you please say a quick prayer and thank him for his grace to us? While you’re at it, please ask him for much, much more!!
